Welcome to the 2025–2026 School Year!

Dear Rio Vista Families,

My name is Theresa Stauffer, and it is with great joy that I introduce myself as the principal of Rio Vista Elementary. I am honored to lead our school community on a journey of learning, growth, and achievement. Your children bring their own unique talents, personalities, and dreams to the classroom, and together with your partnership we will celebrate their successes and guide them through challenges. By working side by side, we will help our students thrive and create lasting memories here at Rio Vista.

I have a deep passion for education and a steadfast commitment to student achievement, rooted in a collaborative leadership approach. Over the past 27 years, I have served as a teacher, instructional coach, coordinator, and assistant principal at various schools throughout the San Fernando Valley. Each role has strengthened my belief in the power of strong school communities where students are supported, challenged, and inspired.

As we open our doors for the 2025–2026 school year, I extend a heartfelt welcome to both our returning families and those joining us for the first time. Thank you for entrusting Rio Vista with your child’s education and well-being. I look forward to working together to ensure this year is filled with meaningful learning, personal growth, and joyful achievements.
