RIO VISTA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

ENROLLMENT GUIDELINES 2025 - 2026 SCHOOL YEAR

      

• • Families must reside within the Los Angeles Unified School District- Rio Vista boundaries.  
  • Please fill out all the enclosed enrollment forms and bring in the required documentation at the time of enrollment.
  • By appointment, the office will only process completed enrollment packets beginning TUESDAY, May 13, 2025.
  • We will be closed for summer on June 25, 2025, and will re-open for enrollments on TUESDAY, July 29, 2025 (tentative depending on the opening date of school)

PARENTS/GUARDIANS MUST PROVIDE:

• • Valid driver's license or picture ID of the parent or legal guardian.
  • Original legal Birth Certificate (not hospital certificate; a foreign birth certificate must be translated into English), baptismal certificate.
  • Proof of address: (In parent/guardian’s name only)
    • • A utility bill (gas, electric, or water only)
      • Rent/lease/mortgage contract issued only in parent/guardian's name. 

• • Up-to-date immunization card.  See the attached Guide to California School Immunizations. If necessary, please have the immunization translated into English.
    
    

TK - 5th grade

• • The first day of school to be determined. (Tentatively  8/14/2025)

Transitional Kindergarten

• • TK -For students turning 5 between September 2, 2025, and September 1, 2026
  • Date of Birth: 09/02/2020 to 09/01/2021 

Kindergarten Age Requirement

• • Students must be 5 years old by September 1, 2025, which means their birth date must be on or before September 1, 2020.  (NO EXCEPTIONS TO THESE DATES)

                         
First Grade Enrollment and Age Requirement

• • Students must be 6 years old by September 1, 2025, which means their birth date must be on or before September 1, 2019.  (NO EXCEPTIONS TO THESE DATES)
